CaJohns Fatalii Fire - Hot-Sauce-of-the-Month / November 2013
Fatalii Fire is made by highly regarded Cajohns Fiery Foods of Ohio. The Fatalii pepper, native to central and south Africa, is also known as the Devil’s Tongue, both for its shape and its fiery bite. The chile has a bright yellow colour and citrusy note which really comes through in this sauce. The sauce also includes Caribe chiles from the Caribbean, garlic, onion, and a blend of dehydrated vegetables. The addition of black pepper and vinegar lend a nice zing and tang.
Loaded with flavour, you won’t want to mistake this sauce for a moderate flavour enhancer. The Fatalii pepper packs a punch and gives this sauce a huge up-front kick!
The combination of chiles, vegetables, and black pepper make this sauce ideal for adding big kick to meats, stew, chile, and gravy. Add a dash to steak sauce, pot roast, meat pie, or poutine. The citrus notes and full body even blend well with a tamarind-based samosa sauce. Just don’t forget the fire in Fatalii Fire!
